I don’t actually expect to have any answers by the end of the day here, as Nintendo will likely stick to what they said and only show games today. But I am also prone to trust Schreier and the reliable Bloomberg team’s reporting. Again, it doesn’t make a lot of sense why they wouldn’t use the platform of E3 to announce the Pro, if its release date really is so close, so who knows what’s going on behind the scenes. However, the system will not cleanly fit within all the design parameters of the Nintendo Labo series.

I supposed it’s possible Nintendo was using subterfuge and plans to announce the Pro today, but if not then, perhaps in some other Direct in a month or so. Nintendo Switch OLED Model is compatible with the full library of Nintendo Switch games. We already saw a new Mario + Rabbits game from Ubisoft that looked suspiciously good, and I expect to see more of that kind of thing today. I also don’t really understand why if they were planning a Switch Pro release in September or October 2021 like the article says, why they wouldn’t be at least announcing the new model now, at the world’s largest video game show where they are presumably about to show off a bunch of games that should be running on this new hardware.
